Tačiau, pradėjus kalbėtis, išaiškėjo keletas įdomių jo gyvenimo faktų, iš kurių vienas pasirodė tikrai neeilinis. Į Ameriką atvykęs 1989 m. birželį, Gintaras buvo vienas pirmųjų trečiosios bangos atvažiavusiųjų, o, jo žodžiais tariant, gal net pats pirmasis.
